Hydro jetting cleans a drain line with high pressure water instead of a steel cable. A hose with a special nozzle goes into the pipe and sprays water backward at high pressure, which scrubs the pipe wall and pushes the debris out to the sewer. It is the difference between washing a pipe and poking a hole through what is in it. We have run this work since 2013.
What is hydro jetting?
A jetter is a pump, a hose and a nozzle. The nozzle sends most of its water backward, which does two things at once. The backward jets pull the hose up the pipe and blast the walls clean as it travels. What comes off the wall washes down and out. A cable cuts a channel through a blockage. A jetter takes the blockage off the pipe entirely.
When does a line need jetting instead of a snake?
Snaking is the right first move on a one-time blockage. Jetting is the right move when the same line keeps blocking, when a kitchen line has years of cooked grease on it, or when roots have filled a joint rather than just poked through it.
